Sons of Groove is a fun band bringing together the combination of Funk, Soul, Blues and R&B that draws and keeps the crowd dancing all night, covering old school Soul, R&B, Funk, Blues and Rock. SOG perform songs from todays artists such as Bruno Mars, Maroon 5 and Camila Cabello to old school greats like Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Prince and Susan Tedeschi. The 5 piece band is a highly talented, dedicated and professional team of musicians who have a combination of over thirty years of experience in the music industry who have performed with many professional bands and spent hours in the recording studio. MEET THE BAND
Angi Hunt
Vocals - I've always loved writing songs, singing, playing piano, and dancing. I took my love for music to Trollwood Performing Arts School during high school where I studied dance, music, and theater. I have performed at many incredible venues including: many casinos, Radisson Blu Chicago, Minnesota State Fair, First Ave, Paisley Park, Minnesota Music Cafe, Lake Harriet Bandshell, Fine Line Music Cafe, Canterbury Park, and more. I moved to Minneapolis from Fargo in 2010 to further my music career and have worked with many Twin Cities bands. I love collaborating with other artists and recording studio vocals. I'm a passionate singer with dynamic vocals and a wide range. I enjoy harmonizing and improvising vocally, and can sing in almost any musical style/genre. My favorite styles are soul, R&B, jazz, blues, funk, and folk rock. I'm an eclectic singer & I love pouring my heart and soul into everything I sing.
Jimmy Hooten
Vocals/Bass - Jimmy is the founding member and bassist in Sons of Groove. He's played in several local bands and enjoys laying down the funk.

Keys - Stan is a versatile keyboardist and composer whose work spans pop songs to film scores, with credits including Billboard-charting songs, session work for the Commodores, contributions to various TV and film projects, and serving as Ingrid Chavez's keyboardist on tours associated with Prince, while spending recent years scoring films and performing solo or with the rock band Blackfish Movement and jazz group Jessie Street.
